Final Fantasy X2

topic posted Sun, May 30, 2004 - 12:06 AM by  Unsubscribed
When I first saw that FFX2 was focused on young girls who's magic system depended on changing dresses I said no thanx. But now I here that the game is considered one of the best FF games ever.
My question is- Is this a game a 27 year old male can enjoy without feeling odd? Or in other words would you recommend this game to someone like me?

Hey, I'm 26 and I own it; it's not as good as FFX was, but it's still not a bad game to own. Keep your eye out, 'cause it's dropping in price now--I think you can find a new copy now for $30-40.

My friend Joe said the same things about it...but then he finally admitted that he just couldn't stop playing.

I haven't played it yet because I am suddenly too poor to attempt to get it even at 30 bucks.

          Video Format

Granted they might have magic, airships, and Blitzball, but their videotech sucks! Forget about High Summoners, if anyone showed up with a camcorder they would be worshiped as gods! haha!

I have heard many guys your age playing it, why not? it is after all Final Fantasy, and you do get to oogle at girls for most of the game, not to mention massage one of them =^_~= (funny stuff). Just play it, and see if you like it. Dressspheres are cooler than you think, especially their special ones that you can get very early in the game. Besides that, don't you wanna know what happend to Tidus?????? Thats why I'm playing it.

              Dagnabit!

              Mon, April 25, 2005 - 9:54 AM
Guys my age? Dagnabit! Just wait till I get my cane young lady. Why back in my day men were men and women had green hair (Terra, Rydia)!

Actually though what you said is probably right. Remember this game was made during the period when the sex kittens were all the rage in video games, like that volleyball and bike game which I don't even remember the names anymore. So yeah this game was less about 21 year old girl role models and more about ooggling them. Compare this to game with characters who were my age- FF7:Cloud, Tifa, Barret,Vincent. Totally different visual range, although Tifa did have a "Lara Croff" look to her.

I felt odd about playing this game, my friend the same age refused to play it after seeing the intro. It's a shame because in game play this is one if not the most detailed and involved game. Once I got pass the "Pop Princesses" I actually started enjoying playing it.

Me too. I was pissed when I saw the opening scene (and for the first couple hours of the game, at least). Yuna Spears?! Give me a break! It was a huge departure from the somber mood of FFX.

However, it didn't take long before I grudgingly admitted starting to like the game. I'm not done yet (about 50%) but now I'm enjoying the hell out of it. If you get past the beginning, the pop idol crap goes away. Then it's well worth playing.

I agree, at least you don't have to use Luna's dance sphere all the time.

It's kinda funny when you use Paine's sphere for first time though, even she says she hates it!

funny, I know guys who said the same thing about not playing it after the opening, and saying that it is a "Charlies Angels" rip off....well they have a point, BUT! give it a chance, the gameplay is VERY detailed and like no other RPG. It was dissapointing to know that if you choose certain things to do you cannot do other things, and there are a few different endings...who has the time to pass it 3 times!? and get 100%? I'm working on it though.

    Publicity

    Sun, July 24, 2005 - 9:43 AM
Unfortunatly one of the major events which drags down the play is the various busy work missions, especially like the Publicity and Matchmaking sidequest. Basically I''m forced to go through several locations in each chapter, find where they are, and then findout what their responses are. I feel cheated on game play in doing this. Another mission like this is the Monkey match game.
